Oh no, what happened to my content ideas last night?

What happened to your ideas?

Are you lying awake at night, kept from your restful sleep by 100’s of thoughts, ideas and things to do flying around in your brain?

It is so annoying but cool at the same time. Tomorrow I'll have so many things to work on.

Tomorrow comes, you wake up a little groggy from interrupted sleep but excited about all your new biz content ideas.

“Today I am going to be so productive”

Then when you get out of bed, whoosh they all disappear!

As soon as you’re standing upright they’re gone!

NOOOOOO what is happening?

I get it, I have been there. It is so frustrating!

All those great ideas, that could really solve your customers current problem  - all gone!

But never fear you can do something about it and capture those ideas for good.

The first thing you can do is go to the stationary store and buy yourself a couple of little notebooks. This idea was given to me by a friend of mine who is an amazing businessman and it literally saved my sanity!

These little notebooks are so handy for all kinds things but especially for recording that night time brilliance that hits you at 3:00 am.

Keep one of those notebooks by your bed, and next time, probably tonight, when you are woken up with your heading spinning with all your magnificent ideas,  jot them down in your new notebook. If you have a partner this may be a bit annoying, but a strategically placed torch, to access your pen and notebook is well worth it.

Write down your idea/s and then get back to sleep, comforted by the knowledge that your ideas has been caught.

The next morning things are simple.

You have the the ideas right there, all written down.

So the first thing you are going to do is not check your notebook!! What? No, the first thing you are going to do is lie back down and take a moment for yourself and be grateful!

Yes, being grateful in the morning is a great way to start our day and really appreciate what we have in life.  Taking a moment to slow down and really be thankful is a gift you can give yourself each and every day.

You may even be thankful for the little notebook beside your bed that has a collection of your nocturnal musings.

Then when you are ready to start your work day take your little notebook and record your ideas in your safe place for use later on.

Now you may need more ideas to start generating enough content for your business and your audience, but the little night time notebook is a great start.

I would suggest taking that process to the next level, by looking at your notebook and using it as a starting point to brainstorm even more ideas.

The best way to do this, is to set aside some time during your week to really focus on generating ideas for your content.

Once you’ve booked that time for yourself, make sure you have removed ALL distractions,  and now you can spend some time really making some progress on what you want to say to your audience.

I find having a system or checklist to follow when I do this is super helpful.

I have a process that I follow to start generating content ideas that I would love to share with you here.

There is nothing worse than being kept awake at night by ideas for your business that simply slip away when the sun comes up!

Using a small notebook to capture those ideas, keep them safe and finally expand on them in a content creation brainstorming strategy session can take you from overwhelm to a place calmness  and satisfaction. Think how good that would feel. And how much better sleep you would get!
