Three things you can do now Save time with your online content strategy
OMG how do you find time to do this?
When life is so busy, where do you find time to sit down plan and create your online content let alone create an online content strategy?
How do you find time to plan your online content when you have so much to do?
clients plan to create, admin, invoices etc
family, friends
your own self-care
life
You tell yourself you will do it later. Later never comes
And you get by, nothing drastic happens but your health and wellness business doesn’t grow much either.
You get by, but you know deep down, that to realise your goals, you need to do something.
Why is it important?
Your online content can speak to your audience even when you aren’t with them in person.
It reminds them that you are available to help them with their problems, offer solutions and they can get to know you before they decide to work with you.
If you suddenly disappear they will also disappear, move on to the next person who can help them.
I was reminded of this in a recent conversation with a Personal Trainer. He took some time off over the holidays and he stopped posting online.
He said his engagement ( and new leads ) plummeted, and he was surprised at how fast it happened.
He didn’t have a plan to show up while he was away, he does now. And his numbers are heading back in the right direction.
Yes, he needed a break, we all work hard and everyone deserves that time off.
Yet you need to keep the wheels turning. Momentum will keep things moving, once you stop it’s harder to restart that wheel.
It can be easy to keep the momentum going, not only while you’re on a break but when you are busy seeing clients as well!
With an online content strategy and a plan to implement it, you don’t have to go through the same thing as he did.
To clarify for you, a Strategy is the big picture of what you want your online content to achieve and
A Plan has the details of how you do that.
Let’s get started.
You can start by making the time.
You make time for all the urgent and important things in your business
Your clients’ appointments - you make them, you show up
Your clients’ programs - you create them, you deliver them
Your bills need to be paid - you make sure you pay them
What you may find yourself doing, or NOT doing, are the important NON-URGENT activities, like your online content strategy.
Those things that will keep the momentum going.
Those things that will grow your business so you can reach your goals.
A good strategy for your online content allows you to create a plan where you can show up consistently and confidently.
It means that even when you don’t feel like it or want to take some time off you still remain visible.
You still provide value to your current and potential clients
Here are three things you can do NOW
1/ MAKE AN APPOINTMENT
with yourself
As a health and wellness expert, you make appointments ALL the time for your clients.
It’s IMPORTANT that you make an appointment with yourself AND book it in to your calendar
A pre-scheduled time to sit down and think about what it is you want to share with your clients, current and prospective.
It could be setting aside a few hours a month or a day each quarter in your calendar. However, it works for you.
Booked and non-negotiable is where to start.
Think of this time you are taking as a service to yourself and your clients
2/ CONTENT IDEAS
You may think you have NO content to share, believe me when I say you absolutely do. I have never worked with anyone who walked away from a session with nothing to share online.
All it takes is a little Brainstorming session, you can find my Brainstorming Guide here to help you start generating ideas
Or you may have so much content, but are doing nothing with it.
A simple thing to do here is to look at it and organise it into a few themes and topics. I recommend a maximum of six themes and four topics for each theme.
If that sounds overwhelming a content strategy session may be what you need. Keeping it simple is the main goal here.
With your content remember to give it an intention. Is it educational, entertaining, connective or asking for a sale?
3/ COMMIT TO YOU
Setting up a schedule that you can commit to rain, hail or shine is key to a well-executed online content strategy and plan.
Consistency will build confidence and confidence means you will continue to show up.
Again you don’t have to show up each and every time online at the time of creating your post.
There are some incredible scheduling tools out there. You can check out some of them here.
When you have
scheduled your time,
organised your content and
committed to a time
You have the basis of a really good online content strategy.
Remember a Strategy is the big picture of what you want your online content to achieve and
A Plan has the details of how to do that.
All you need to do now is to IMPLEMENT it!
