Three reasons why you need to start reusing your online content today

Reduce, REUSE, recycle: repurposing revisited

Today I want to look at ways you can reuse your content

But first, let’s revisit why you may want to repurpose your online

The number one reason is to save you time.

Nobody wants to spend hours online. You have a business to run, a life to enjoy outside of business and yes being online is part of both. Having the choice of how much time you want to spend online is the goal here.

By Repurposing your content, you are

Reducing the amount you need to create

Reusing what you have already created and

Recycling it into different formats, you will ABSOLUTELY save your precious time.

Some of my clients have halved the amount of time they spend online by repurposing their online content.

Another reason is money.

Being online for your business can be fun, it can be educational but its main aim is to attract leads and clients to you and your business. Because you have saved time repurposing your online content, you can use that time to help more people who will pay you for your time

So now that you know why repurposing is a good idea.

How do you go about REUSING your online content?

Repetition repetition repetition

If you can, think about your content like the news

The news is repeated over and over throughout the day.

Often it is the same exact video clip on TV or the exact same audio on the radio or the exact same post on social media.

Repetition is key. And the news channels do this really really well.

So take a leaf out of the mass media book and don’t be afraid to repeat YOUR message and repeat it often.

But I don’t want to annoy people

Repeating your message can become a bit of a block for some people.

You are a health coach you, want to attract people to work with you. You don’t want to annoy them.

And you may feel that if you are showing up with the same message all the time people will be annoyed.

One of the best pieces of advice I received around this from a mentor was this:

Yes, you want to ATTRACT your ideal client

and you actually also want to REPEL people who ARE NOT your ideal client.

People who want to work with you will be happy to hear what you have to say over and over again.

Who’s ready to buy from you?

Which brings me to my next point which is most people aren’t ready to buy from you the first time they hear from you!

As much as I would love to tell you, show up online and people will see it and become your client, it doesn’t often work that way.

Marketing statistics tell us that only three out of one hundred people are ready to buy when they hear you have a solution to their problem.

Sixty people out of those one hundred will NEVER buy from you

The other thirty-seven people need to hear from you 7-21 times before they buy!

Take that as an encouragement to keep reusing that piece of amazing content so that person who thinks that’s interesting but got sidetracked by the kids’ pickup, or saw you on Instagram but got a phone call or was about to DM you but had to go to the door will see you again and this time be able to take some action.

Reusing your content is smart use of your time.

Reuse it so you don’t have to create more and more.

Reuse it knowing it won’t be annoying, the only person who sees every piece of your content is you! ( and maybe your online content coach! )

Reuse it so you give people the opportunity to reach out to you when the time is right for them
