Inspiration missing? Here's three easy things you can do to find it

Inspiration can be scheduled and a schedule is your key to freedom.

Believe it or not, just don't say NO until you have tried it.

Working with busy health coaches who are also creative types tell me

  • "I NEED to be inspired to create content."

  • "I can’t call on inspiration at a certain time- it needs to come to me"

That's just not how it works they tell me!

I ALWAYS beg to differ.

Planning and scheduling your time to create, edit and publish your online content will free you up. It will allow you to become unleash more creativity than you have ever imagined!

It works time and time again for EVERY single person who tries it and commits to it.

Like the lady in one of my Facebook groups who tried it and was blown away by her results.

Commitment - who does that?

Commitment sounds like such a big thing. Difficult for many of us to take that leap of fate.

What can work well when you are struggling to commit to a schedule is reminding yourself of how important it is to actually show up online for your clients.

Step 1. Commit

First, you need to be open to the idea of scheduling your time to "Do" your online content

For the creative health coaches out there that means finding a time each and every week that is your “non -negotiable" creative time

Once you have set this time aside, then you give yourself, your brain, your mind permission to simply be

I find an hour a week works best for most people, but you can start with 30 minutes or even two hours depending on your own circumstances

Stop, really stop and give yourself permission to think.

How often do you sit and simply think? Not just about what is on your to-do list today but creative thinking?

The thinking of how you might share your genius with the people who need you the most!

Step 2 Sit, Think, Create

Once you have committed to that time,

Use it to think, to dream, to ask yourself:

  • What do my clients want from me?

  • What do they need from me?

And note, sometimes, these are very different things!!

When you first start sitting down to your scheduled time for content creation you may find yourself thinking:

  • I can’t think of anything to say

  • this is dumb

  • I need to be inspired to create

  • I’m not some robot

My challenge to you is to stay there, sit and write

Take your pen and paper or digital device and simply write down ANYTHING that comes to mind.

You could write -> this is dumb!

You could write  ->I find this frustrating

OR

You could write the answers to the questions above!

The trick is to put pen to paper and simply keep writing.

If you prefer you can record a video or audio, whatever works best for you.

Even though I LOVE doing videos, I find pen and paper works magic when I am working towards more creating and forming the messages I want to share

Make a concerted effort and allow your mind to flow. You will be amazed by the results

All things are difficult

I love this quote:

" ALL THINGS ARE DIFFICULT BEFORE THEY ARE EASY"

- Thomas Fuller.

All things are really hard until they are not anymore.

Remember back to a time when you were learning something new. Something that now you are very good at.

Do you remember how hard that was?

If you can’t remember anything for yourself then think about one of your clients when they started with you.

Did they find it difficult to stop a behaviour like drinking soft drinks or eating unhelpful foods?

How are they doing now?

Those first steps are always the hardest. But with persistence, consistency and a helping hand along the way

Things that were once difficult become easy

It may be the same with you scheduling your content creation.

And that’s ok. Especially if you have always been the creative type, doing your best work when inspiration hits.

But what if inspiration goes missing for a while?

Wouldn’t it be great to know you had a time set aside each week to invite inspiration in?

If you are struggling a bit with the thought of this whole process, then use my Brainstorming Guide to help you get started.

It takes you step by step through the process of creating not only content, but any new ideas you would like to explore.

I promise you after a few times of using it you will be excited to sit down to your “inspiration” time

Scheduling your time to actually create your content can feel very overwhelming to start with.

You don’t want to waste your precious time. You won’t. I promise.

It takes courage to change the way you do things.

Remember it’s only difficult until it’s not!

I am sure you share this with your health and wellness clients all the time. They are so certain they could never find the time to exercise or create healthy food but with your help they do it!

Apply it to yourself and see where you can go with your online content creation

The steps again

1/ Commit  - to a time

2/ Sit and actually do  the work - write or record

3/  Remember  - Its always difficult until it gets easy

Any time we start something new it can be super helpful to have someone lead the way for us.
