Ditch your online content overwhelm now with these 3 easy steps

Ditching the Overwhelm feels like ….

Feeling overwhelmed by the need to show up online? Ditch your online content overwhelm by following these three easy steps

This is it.

This is THE year.

The year you finally get your online presence dialled in, you can feel it

  • you will show up everywhere

  • you will know exactly what to say

  • you will be brilliant

You sit down to start and then you start to feel that familiar feeling of dread -

YOU know you have to be online. You even want to be showing up online.

BUT it’s so time-consuming. And you really are doing so much already.

It’s so hard. What do you say? When do you post? Where do you post?

Argghhhh - you think I’ll leave it and think about something else.

Something easier, something you can actually DO. You think “I am sure if I just change the fonts and colours on my website then that will attract more people to me!”

When you do this, TIME does get away from you. And once again you have that feeling of overwhelm build up which stops you from showing up online in the way you imagined.

Now if you can imagine it you can do it!

Like Henry Ford famously said, “ if you think you can, you can!”

All you need is a plan!

A plan is a good place for you to start working not just in your health and wellness business but on it.

A plan is your best tool to ditch the overwhelm when it comes to your online content.

A plan guides you and gives you focus to do the things you need to do!

Starting in the new year, planning is a great tool.

In fact, I recommend planning more often than that - but that’s the topic for another blog post

Over the years of working online, I have been very fortunate to have input from many wonderful mentors and coaches on ways to plan for my business and of course for my online content plan.

They all have their own way of preparing for the year ahead but all had some very basic things in common.

The Plan Outline

1/ Looking Back:

Where you’ve been? What you have done/achieved. This review time is so important and so often forgotten.

REVIEWING gives us clues, it shows us what went really well and what didn’t work as well. When used well it can help us learn and decide what to keep doing and what to stop doing.

2/ Looking Forward:

Where DO you want to go?

What DO you want to do in the next 12 months(or other time frame) ?

This is where most people start and often stop. It’s important to know what you want to achieve, otherwise, you just keep swimming around in circles. Having something to work towards gives you a reason to get out of bed every day.

Once you know where you want to go, the next step is not simply getting on and doing it, you need to know one very important thing!

3/ Looking at Right Now:

Where are you right now?

When you ask someone for directions, what is one of the first things they ask you? Yes, it’s “Where are you?” Because if you don’t know where you are starting from how can you start moving to where you want to go. You can start but you may be faced in the completely wrong direction!

Like what do you have right now that can help you/ all the things you may have learnt in the previous 12 months all the experiences that will help you in your business and of course in my case helping you plan and organise your online presence so that it becomes or remains healthy and thriving.

Of course, I will be focusing on your online content! (Be a bit silly not to as your online content coach! )

Here are my THREE BEST recommendations for ditching the overwhelm that so often surrounds people when they start thinking about their online content plan.

The KISS method

#1 Keep it Simple

Planning is meant to make life easier.

Imagine giving your clients who want to work on their strength a plan based on an Olympic weightlifter? Would they even understand the terminology used in that plan? It would be way too complicated for them. They wouldn’t even start.

You know they need a plan to suit where they are at right now, what they have done in the past and what their goals are. Sound familiar?

You need the same for your online content plan. If you are going to start, it has to be easy to start and show you the way in a clear and easy manner.

So start simple.

Get these key things dialled in for your online content and you will be on the path to a simple and effective presence online

  • Know your message - What problems do you solve? What are your solutions?

  • Know your audience. - Who do you serve? How well do you know them?

  • Tell them what you do - How do you solve their problems? What makes your solution attractive for them?

The Power of ONEs

#2 Focus on the ONES

This is the number ONE thing that helps so many of my clients go from overwhelmed to confident and consistent showing up online

Every single time you create a post for social media, send an email, write a blog post, or film a video you need to

focus on your ONES.

This one simple philosophy saves you so much TIME ( and worry )

It reduces that feeling of everything being too much and gives every single part of your online presence clarity and intention

If you do nothing else - focus on your ONE’s.

I often run workshops focusing on the ONE’s that helps you understand how to apply them to your online content.

If that is something that appeals to you then head over to my Facebook page events and register for the next one.

Kindness is not a weakness

#3 Be kind to yourself

Once you have your plan in place, it’s great

You can go to it each week, follow it and get your online content out to the world confidently and consistently

Remember though you are human and things happen in life.

So nobody is perfect (even if we would like to be ). Striving for perfection is great but really it is not attainable.

Sadly that stops many of us from even starting. I know because this was me wanting to know that everything would work out just as I planned it otherwise what was the point? Over the years I have learned a lot more from my mistakes than anything else in life.

Still, I believe you can aim high, as high as you possibly can. Definitely do that!

Focus on doing the things even if they are not perfect.

  • if you can’t find the exact words for that post - publish it anyway

  • if you can’t find the perfect photo - choose one anyway

  • if you miss posting on a day you said you would -post it tomorrow or another day, it’s ok

  • if you want to talk bout something that’s not “ planned “ but is important to your audience and you - definitely go with it

And when you have done it, give yourself a high five!

Did you know high fives are scientifically proven to make you perform better? What better way to be kind to yourself than getting a high five from you!

You know you need to show up online. You know you need to let your clients know how you can help them with their health and wellness issues.

But ditching the overwhelm when it comes to creating your online content plan can be hard.

Doing these three things can help you thrive.

  1. Keep it simple - your plan needs to make getting your online content out there easy for you

  2. Focus on the ones - the ONE’s WILL give you the focus you need ( check here for the next workshop)

  3. Be kind to yourself - nobody is perfect ( though we would like to think we are!) so don’t let it get in the way of implementing your plan

If this all sounds great and you are ready to ditch the overwhelm and keep your online content simple so it serves you and your clients BUT you still are unsure of where to start, then your next step can be to
