Three easy ways to keep a healthy online presence over the holidays

It's ok to keep selling over the holidays. in fact, it’s a great time to keep showing up online.

People are busy, especially in the southern hemisphere. at this time of the year.

(After spending many years living in the northern hemisphere, I’ve noticed that it seemed less busy than the south. No idea why simply my observation.)

There is a lot going on. Winding up, finishing projects, getting things done before the magical date of December 25th.

YOU have the end of the school year, summer holidays, Christmas and all the planning that goes into that.

Then comes the plans for the New Year and all the resolutions.

Did you know somewhere between 45 and 65% of the adult population around the globe make a New Year' resolution each year?

Even though those figures are widely disparate that’s still a lot of people making them.

And according to goskills.com, the top 10 new year resolutions are:

  • Exercise more.

  • Lose weight.

  • Get organized.

  • Learn a new skill or hobby.

  • Live life to the fullest.

  • Save more money / spend less money.

  • Quit smoking.

  • Spend more time with family and friends.

  • Travel more

The top two are huge for you in the health and wellness business. As well as numbers five and seven.

Now you may be saying to yourself that’s awesome. I will keep that in mind once I get back into things after my break!

DO people on holiday spend more time online?

BUT what I would like you to consider is this.

People who are on holiday may actually have more time to spend online, more time to look at their social media platforms, read their fun emails and those blogs they’re interested in.

More time to click on YOUR link and more time to find out about how your business can help them reach their health and wellness resolutions for the coming year.

They may even have some Christmas cash to buy your stuff!

So what happens if you DON’T have a presence online over this time?

Think about that for a moment if you’re not showing up until sometime later in January, even in February, already half of those people have given up on their New Year resolutions and no longer think they need your help. Saying to themselves “I’ll do it next year”

Now think about this.

What if YOU did show up online over the holidays?

What if you showed up, told people what you do and showed them how you can help them reach their goals? What if you let them know you could help them with being ONE of the 3% of people who actually achieve their New Years resolution?

It could get your year off to a great start.

The holidays can be an awesome time of year for promoting your business. Spending some time planning your online presence for this time of the year now is the key. If you do it well you can both promote your services and take some well deserved time off.

So how do you do that? How can you stay top of mind for people and grow your business during the holidays?

Last year I wrote about how to keep focus in the holidays and I think NOW is a good time to revisit these again.

THREE THINGS YOU CAN DO TO KEEP A HEALTHY ONLINE PRESENCE OVER THE HOLIDAYS

#1 STAY VISIBLE

Make sure you have don’t simply fall off the radar. Now is the time stay visible.

Now is NOT the time to stop showing up online.

If you haven’t thought about this and have nothing prepared, never fear! This is probably the easiest time of year to create a quick behind the scenes video or photo post.

Talk about what you know. Talk directly to your people and less to the masses. Tell them what you can help them with now and in the future.

Tell them how this year you can help them bring those health and wellness New Year resolutions into reality.

If you have something exciting happening in your business next year start sharing it now. Planning a new service or product? The time between Christmas and New Year can be a great time to promote it.

#2 PRE-PREPARE

Set aside some time now to create some engaging posts. You can set aside 30-60 minutes, create 3 videos or text posts and schedule them! They don't have to be long to be effective.

Make sure they are valuable for your clients, either fun, creating a connection or educational so they can learn something from you.

Tap into those common resolutions mentioned above and create some posts relating to the solutions you have for those problems.

As a health and wellness coach, even if you don’t specifically deal with exercise or weight loss, there is no doubt you can help people live life to the fullest with your services!

Once you have thought about what you are going to share, you need to know how you are going to share them.

You know you can maintain a presence on Facebook and Instagram without actually having to post “ live” each day. You can easily do this by using Facebook Creator studio or Facebook Business suite to plan out and schedule your online content.

It’s not only Facebook and Instagram, other platforms also allow you to use various  scheduling tools  to plan your online content out in advance.

If emails and blog posts are part of your online presence these can also be planned and scheduled in advance.

If you aren’t there yet, talk to me about how you can create a healthier online presence without taking up more of your valuable time.

Scheduling means you can show up AND take some well deserved time off as well.

So take those videos, audios, graphics and text posts you created and schedule them

#3 KEEP IT SIMPLE

Keep your posts simple.

Simplicity will allow you to show up consistently. Consistency is always a good thing when you are wanting to create and keep a healthy presence online

Remember to focus on one problem AND one solution for each post you create.

By focusing on that ONE thing you and your client gain clarity.

Creating a few posts to go out over this time will ensure you are still showing up. Using a theme like New Year resolutions, you can help your ideal client with will give you a focus to create your messages.

You can show up and take a break

By simply having a few posts scheduled to go out over the holidays YOU can still be visible and get your well-deserved break. Ready to start the new year with a bang!

Keep in mind that not every person is taking a technology break between Christmas and New Year. Many will still be scrolling on their smart phones. Perhaps even more than usual!

Use this time as an opportunity to get in front of their eyeballs and say hi!

Remind them that you are still here.

Remind them that you can help them with their health and wellness resolutions.

And more importanlty that you can help them keep those resolutions and that this year will be the year they will actually live life to the fullest.
