Do you ever get stuck knowing what to say online? If the first thing that comes out of your mouth is an “oh yes!” then know you are not alone!

I’ve written a number of blogs on when, where and how to share your content. However, in many Facebook groups, coaching sessions and generally when talking to people about online content one of the most common comments you hear as a reason for not posting regularly is:

I don't know what to say!

What do I say? Happens to everyone at some stage of their business journey.

There are a few people that have so much content, that they don't know what to do with it! Now that’s another problem altogether. One I work towards with all of my clients.

First up, I want you to know that even though right now it feels like you have no clue of what to say, it feels very real, doesn't it?  Understand that deep down inside, buried in your brain you ACTUALLY do know what to say.

It's simply a case of getting it out of your head and onto your online platforms. Easier said than done!

Think about it like this: If someone came into your “store” and asked you a question what would you say?

If you were talking to someone about your business in a social setting or at a networking event, what would you say to them?

If someone asked you a specific question about your business, how would you answer them?

Think about these questions and come up with answers, then you have the beginnings of what to say online!

Where to get inspiration

Sometimes we really don’t know what to say. Our mind goes blank. This used to happen to me often! I would actually spend part of the night lying awake in bed with all these amazing ideas running around my head. After eventually getting to sleep I would wake the next morning, sit down at my computer and NOTHING!! All those ideas gone!

What helped get them back? Developing a way to bring them back out, as mentioned earlier they are all still there buried in your brain. A great way to find them again is to do a brainstorming session. If you have never done any brainstorming before it can be a bit overwhelming on where to start. You can use my Brainstorming checklist to help guide you through the process

What is your business about?

Are you a health and wellness coach that focuses on menopausal women or men with chronic illness or keeping kids off the couch? These are all very different audiences within the health and wellness business sphere. With very different problems to solve. Who do you work with?

You always want to start with thinking about what it is your business provides. What problems do you solve for whom? What solutions do you offer?

Once you have decided on these then you can move to the next phase.

How do I know what to say today?

So waking up this morning, you need to post online what do you say? Of course the best thing to do would be to take a look at your list from your brainstorming session! But if you haven’t go around to that yet then here are ten things you can choose from right now.

10 quick ways to help you figure out what to say today:

  1. What questions do your current clients ask you? Answer one.

  2. If you're starting out ( and don't have any clients yet ) What do you tell people when they ask you what you do? Tell them

  3. Share part of your personal journey. Why did you become a health coach?

  4. Share one of your client’s journey, also known as a case study

  5. Seasonal topics. Is it Mothers Day? Christmas? Springtime?

  6. Make an offer! Tell people what you are selling ( yes this can and should be part of what you say even if it feels weird )

  7. Behind the Scenes.  What makes you you, your interests etc.  What's happening in your office today?

  8. What is happening in your world right now? Is your grandfather visiting? Are you planning a picnic for the weekend?

  9. What is happening in the world right now? Are there any major events happening that everyone is talking about?

  10. Ask a question of your audience. What would they like to know about their health that you can help them solve?

Use any ( or all ) of these suggestions to create a post, an email or a blog. Ensure you bring the focus back to your clients and your potential clients, let them know what is going on in your business and how it helps them!

This is so important!

ALWAYS be thinking how does this post help my customer get the results they want from my service?

If you think more about them than you then what to say becomes about them and not you and to be honest everyone is more interested in themselves than anybody else! ( Even your mum😉 )

Having to come up with something to say online whether that’s social media, emails or blogs can be daunting.

I want to remind you again that you do know what to say, it's in there you just need a process to bring it out.

If you are struggling to find a process that works for you, use the Brainstorming checklist. It’s a great framework that you can use as often as you like.

Once you have your ideas keep them handy to use each and every day when you wake up and ask the question What Do I Say?

If you would like someone to help your through the process of figuring out what to say every day, then I would love to hear from you. Book here and let’s chat.
